Jason has a problem.
He doesn’t remember anything before waking up in a bus full of kids on a field trip. Apparently he has a girlfriend named Piper, and a best friend named Leo. They’re all students at a boarding school for “bad kids.” What did Jason do to end up here? And where is here, exactly?
Piper has a secret.
Her father has been missing for three days, ever since she had that terrifying nightmare about his being in trouble. Piper doesn’t understand her dream, or why her boyfriend suddenly doesn’t recognize her. When a freak storm hits during the school trip, unleashing strange creatures and whisking her, Jason, and Leo away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood, she has a feeling she’s going to find out.
Leo has a way with tools.
When he sees his cabin at Camp Half-Blood, filled with power tools and machine parts, he feels right at home. But there’s weird stuff, too—like the curse everyone keeps talking about, and some camper who;s gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist that each of them—including Leo—is related to a god. Does this have anything to do with Jason's amnesia, or the fact that Leo keeps seeing ghosts?

So as you see above I have both covers on the blog. One is from the US and the other is from the UK site on amazon. I have to say I like the UK version a lot more than the US I feel like it really capture the dragon and his ability to breath fire. Tell me which one do you like better?

This book took K and I months to finish. The chapters were really long and I am kind of a weird person I like to be able to stop at the next chapter rather than in the middle of the page. I happened to see this series in the dollar store one day and I bought the book not realizing I bought book 4. So I decided that hey let me see if my local library has this series. Sure enough they do and I grabbed and tried it out on K. We finished Percy Jackson and I know he enjoyed that book so why not see about this series. We are now going to be introduced to another set of demigods yet we will still have some from the previous series.
It was interesting to have Jason get part of his memory back and finally  all made sense. We will get new gods that I had not read about before like Midas (think about one of the Aladdin movies) and see what they have to do with this new war that is going to be happening upon the mortal realm. It seems that these gods and warriors hold grudges and hold them for a long time. We got to see plenty of action and the form of really good friendships being formed. All three characters have something to bring to this quest and it will take them all working together to stop this war from happening.
We liked all the characters but Leo was really a good character. The fact that he could build things and pull things out of his tool belt and really truly cared about all those around him. I would like to see more from Leo and his father.
There is one character that K would just get that deep gut laugh every time he seemed to have something to say, and that was Coach Hedge. I believe there was one part that said something to the fact of "I will stick my hoof up your...."now it doesn't say the bad word but you know what it means. I don't think I have ever in my life really truly heard K laugh that deep of a laugh. If you enjoyed Percy Jackson then you will for sure enjoy this series. Just be warned that it is a long book and if you are reading it like we are as a bedtime book you will be at for a long time.
