Having a little sister like four-year-old Ramona isn't always easy for Beezus Quimby. With a wild imagination, disregard for order, and an appetite for chaos, Ramona makes it hard for Beezus to be the responsible older sister she knows she ought to be…especially when Ramona threatens to ruin Beezus's birthday party. Newbery Medal winner Beverly Cleary delivers a humorous tale of the ups and downs of sisterhood. Both the younger and older siblings of the family will enjoy this book.

So I thought with A going into 2nd grade she would love this book. I have heard such good things about Beezus and Ramona. A didn't really like it. She just kept talking while I was reading, didn't really care too much. I thought the book was good though the chapters were very long. As a person who likes to read until the next chapter A and I were reading for long periods and maybe that is why she wasn't liking it? I am going to try this book later on and see if just maybe she will like it then. Though I do know not every child will like a book. Poor Beezus as much as she loves her younger sister she is driven crazy by her. From making a lot of noise to reading the same book over and over, to even which is just a crime (writing in a library book).

Beverly Cleary (born April 12, 1916) is the author of over 30 books for young adults and children. Her characters are normal children facing challenges that many of us face growing up, and her stories are liberally laced with humour. Some of her best known and loved characters are Ramona Quimby and her sister Beatrice ("Beezus"), Henry Huggins, and Ralph S. Mouse.
