How do Santa and the elves relax after they've delivered all of the Christmas Eve gifts? When Sam McGuffin hears the sound of reindeer hooves on Christmas Eve, he can?t resist sneaking out the window and into the back of Santa?s sleigh. He wants to see what the North Pole is really like. But the sleigh isn?t headed to the North Pole that night. It?s destined for Santa?s Island, a top-secret, out-of-this-world vacation paradise. And now Sam is about to receive the ultimate gift from Santa?a day of unforgettable amusements with Santa and his elves?all because he?ll say something to Santa that no other kid has ever thought to utter: ?Thank you.?

Picked this up at our library, A and I loved it. We both loved looking at the snow globe at the end of the story. A actually compared what it looked like to one of the pictures in the book.
Santa is done with delivering all the gifts so it is time he gets to relax, well when a child named Sam decides to hop a ride onto the sleigh he is in for a huge surprise because the North Pole is not where Santa is going. Instead of Santa hurrying to get Sam home he lets him stay! A and I laughed at some of the rides that Same had to ride on.
There is a reason Santa let him stay and have fun and that was because of two words!
This book is perfect to read during the month of December and I think the young children will love to see what Santa does when on vacation!
