Review: Dinosaurs from Head to Tail by Stacey Roderick

From one dinosaur's head to another's tail, this informational picture book challenges readers to guess which prehistoric creature each of eight different body parts belongs to. (For example, "What dinosaur had claws like this?") For each question, the answer is given on the following spread, with an overview that includes the name of the dinosaur, an illustration of the entire animal in its habitat and facts about the featured body part, such as why it looked the way it did and how scientists believe it was used. The colorful and eye-catching collage illustrations by Kwanchai Moriya offer a unique and friendly approach to the ever-popular subject of dinosaurs. A and I actually read this before bed and she seemed to enjoy the story.

This is a great book about sharing, and is great for the younger kiddos. 

You have Ella who has all these toys and doesn't want to share with her friends. But when she sees her friends playing without her she asks herself was she nice, should she share? It is something that all kids go through they have all these toys but sometimes do not like to share. We watch as Ella learns a lesson that she should share with her friends and not only will she be happy but so will her friends.

The pictures were very colorful and kept the attention of my two year old.

K didn't like this book as it was a "girl" book. And I guess I need to start remembering that. This is a book that I will read to my daughter instead. 

So this review will be based on what I think rather than what K thinks because he wasn't listening.

This is a great book for young kids. You have three young girls who look in the mirror and see how beautiful they are. They pretend on what it would be like to be a mermaid and ladybug among other things. The author mentions in the blurb about self-esteem and I think that this is perfect because that is what children need more of now a days. Especially early on in life. The pictures are very colorful and draw you in. The story is rhyming and there is answers as to what the girls like about themselves towards the end for you and your little one to play. I liked the message given in this book that you are beautiful inside and out.
